Fun day out at Oughterard Regatta

Oughterard’s annual regatta takes place on Sunday in Baurisheen Bay.

A one day event this year, the regatta is a must for anyone interested in currach, boat, and punt racing. Entries for the competition close at 12 noon on the day and will be followed by racing for seniors, juniors, mixed, and u-16s.

The organisers have arranged a feast of shore events to coincide with the racing. These include a tug-of-war, throwing the sheaf, a penalty shoot-out, bouncing castle, and Irish dancing to ensure a fun day out for the family.
